U.S. Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings toured schools throughout Alaska for two days last week, promoting progress she said the state has made under the No Child Left Behind Act. The secretary visited the small Eskimo communities of Bethel and Shishmaref, and schools in Nome and Anchorage.
